DESCRIPTION: Length up to 7mm. A blue-black shieldbug with consistent markings which can be a range of colours including white, red, yellow or orange. BEHAVIOUR: This bug overwinters as an adult, emerging in the spring. Larvae can be found between May and July. DISTRIBUTION: Scattered throughout cental and southern Britain. HABITAT: A grassland species found in meadows, grassy fields and roadside verges wherever members of the Brassica family are found. PERIOD: May to June.
